Vaccine Information

Vaccine Information

There is a great deal of controversy about vaccinations - should or shouldn't you:
  • Vaccinate your child
  • Get a flu shot
  • HPV vaccines
  • Vaccinate when traveling abroad
  • Vaccinate elderly and infants
  • Get any type of vaccine
My advice to people is become educated before you take any irreversable actions.  Once you put a vaccine or other substance into your body it is very difficult to get it back out again.  Know what is in the vaccine.  Below is a table of vaccines listing the ingredients from the CDC website.  Or you can check it yourself by going to www.cdc.gov and putting "Vaccine Excipien and Media Summary" in the search engine.

Vaccination waivers

Most states allow parents to sign a waiver instead of having their child vaccinated before entering school.  Michigan citizens supported a bill several years ago and now we have the right to sign a waiver form instead of having our children vaccinated.  We have the right to choose this option for religious, medical or just plain don't believe in vaccinations.  We have one of the more liberal state vaccination laws.

This form is legal in the state of Michigan, I prefer one of the other forms which don't make you feel like you are a criminal and bad parent when you sign it.

Mothers opposing mandatory vaccines has a much more friendly waiver form.

Check out your state to find out about the laws reguarding vaccinations.  Each state is different.

There are many books on the market today which outline the pro's and con's of vaccinations.  Listed below are a few of the ones I have read and recommend to parents.
