Essential Oils November Newsletter
Happy Thanksgiving
Through the years I have found there seems to be a great deal of misunderstanding, especially in Christian communities, about what is natural health and what does it comprise of. I have been accused many time, unjustly I might add, of being part of the ‘new age’ movement. I’m not exactly sure what it means to be ‘new age’, but if they mean eating healthy, utilizing herbs and essential oils to improve the body’s ability to repair itself, then I guess you could say I am part of the new age movement. But then, if that is the case, then I am in the company of many very spiritual people who have lived through history, including, Adam and Eve, Moses, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, and Jesus, just to mention a few. There are many references to the healing herbs and oils in the Bible, in addition to references by many of the great writers in history
This month is focusing on the oils which are mentioned in the Bible. There are at least fourteen oils mention including myrrh, frankincense, cedarwood, cinnamon, cassia, calamus, galbanum, onycha, spikenard, hyssop, sandalwood, myrtle, cypress and rose of sharon. Each of these healing oils contain chemical compounds that promote healing on the physical, emotional and spiritual level.

The Magi who visited the Christ child brought Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Oils can be used many ways: diffused, Bath oil, Bath salts, or Massaged. Pick your favorite combinations and use your oils regularly.
I have picked several essential oil recipes this month for a variety of issues which contain one or more of the Biblical oil. These are amounts for single use, you can multiply the number of drops to increase the amounts you make.
Christmas gift suggestions:
Make up a basket/box containing one or more of the recipes in a jar of bath salts, mixed into liquid soap, added to unscented lotion
Mix up a massage oil, bath salt or oil, and lotion and wrap up along with a loofa or natural sponge.
Put together a candle (don't forget to add a sample bottle with oil blend to drop on the candle while burning), a couple of your favorite tea bags and a mug with instructions on how to have a relaxing (or romantic) bath.
